Attachments in Templates

Add an attachment

In the template editor, click Insert Attachment and select the file.

PDF and PPT files display two additional options:

  • Allow recipient to download — Recipients can download and keep a local copy. Once downloaded, you lose visibility into further sharing.
  • Ask the recipient to enter a name to access the presentation — Recipients must enter their name to view the file. Your Presentation Report shows who viewed it and for how long, including anyone the email was forwarded to. Recipients can choose to skip entering their name.

These prompts appear for PDFs and PowerPoints only. Word docs, Excel sheets, and MP4s are attached without these options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I get notified when someone downloads my attachment?

If you select "Allow recipient to download," you can see that they viewed the file, but once they download it, you lose visibility into further interactions such as sharing the downloaded copy.

Can I prevent recipients from downloading my presentation?

Yes. Uncheck "Allow recipient to download" when inserting the tracked presentation. Recipients can view it in the browser but cannot save a local copy.
